Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized, tech-savvy On-Site Construction Manager to lead daily field operations and coordinate all aspects of active construction projects. In addition to supervising crews, inspections, and schedules, this role includes a creative component: producing visual and written content to capture and communicate project progress and construction techniques for both internal documentation and public-facing platforms such as social media.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily construction site operations, labor, materials, and subcontractors
  • Create and manage project schedules, adjusting for weather, inspections, and site priorities
  • Schedule and attend city and engineering inspections, ensuring all compliance requirements are met
  • Oversee material ordering, equipment rental, and jobsite logistics
  • Maintain all jobsite equipment and ensure proper tool tracking and servicing
  • Maintain a fully stocked and compliant first aid station; monitor fire extinguishers and schedule fire watch when needed for hot work
  • Produce and maintain field documentation: daily reports, inspection logs, and progress records
  • Take high-quality photos and short videos of ongoing work to document progress and construction techniques
  • Write concise and informative captions or summaries explaining technical work in plain language
  • Work with project managers or marketing teams to publish content to company platforms (website, social media, client portals, etc.)
  • Ensure content meets basic safety, privacy, and quality standards before publication
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs to assess work quality, schedule adherence, and site safety
  • Serve as the key liaison between field crews and management, vendors, inspectors, and clients

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in on-site construction management or field supervision

Strong knowledge of residential/commercial construction sequencing, methods, and safety standards

Demonstrated ability to coordinate city and third-party inspections

Comfortable with scheduling, change orders, subcontractor coordination, and permit compliance

Proficient in using a smartphone or tablet for capturing and sharing jobsite photos and videos

Basic ability to write clear descriptions of construction processes and translate technical work into audience-friendly content

OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain)

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preffered Qualifications:

Experience creating social media content or construction progress posts

Familiarity with platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, or project reporting tools (Procore, Buildertrend, etc.)

Construction Supervisor License (if required by jurisdiction)

Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Polish) a plus

Comfort working with office staff or marketing teams to align content with brand standards

Shop Manager – Advanced Construction

Position Overview:

Advanced Construction is seeking a dependable, organized, and proactive Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our central shop and support field operations across all active job sites. This position plays a vital role in maintaining smooth logistics, equipment readiness, and workplace safety. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities, and experienced with tool/equipment tracking systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Logistics & Procurement:
    • Purchase construction supplies and tools from various vendors (in-person, by phone, or online).
    • Deliver supplies and tools to all active job sites promptly.
    • Pick up and return tools/supplies between job sites and the shop.
  • Inventory & Equipment Management:
    • Clean, inspect, and organize all tools returned from job sites.
    • Maintain orderly storage of materials and supplies at the shop.
    • Manage tool tracking software and generate regular tool usage and maintenance reports.
    • Track and log maintenance records for all tools and company vehicles.
  • Permit & Licensing:
    • Acquire necessary licenses and permits for current job sites.
  • Waste Management:
    • Pick up construction debris from job sites and dispose of it at designated facilities.
  • Vehicle & Property Maintenance:
    • Perform regular landscaping and seasonal snow removal at four company-owned properties.
    • Wash, clean, and maintain fluid levels in six company-owned vehicles.
    • Ensure snow removal for company vehicles during winter months.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Track and submit employee time sheets accurately.
    • Prepare reports as requested by the company president.
  • Shop Upkeep:
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the shop environment.
